If the valve assembly becomes corroded/faulty, who is responsible ?

Thanks, Sparkly. What I was getting at, is whether it was the result of buildings works/path laying etc.

No, been like that for 10 years. Regulations seem a bit silly. Cannot have more than one flexi connection, cannot be mounted on a brick platform.
I could do it myself with a couple of feet of 22 ml copper and two elbows.
Ok. I just find it hard to believe that anyone could provide such an arrangement in the first place.

Hardly "best practice".

Oh well. That's all you can do then. Just live with it.
It seems that it is quite usual for the customer to pay for any re-positioning. As you say, this can crop up when an extension or whatever, is proposed.
