Rose Tree Problems
Hi Green fingered ABers, wonder if you can help, please. I've just noticed that my three new rose trees (which have flowered nicely this summer) have got a lot of yellowing leaves - all three have the same, sort of yellow and green dappled ... is this rose blight? or if not, do you know what it might be? And what can I do to get them to return to "good health" again, please? Hope someone can help, many thanks, Cheers, Chox.

Have been watering them all the time in this stifling weather! Will have a look for Garlic Spray (thanks for the recommendation, Togo). Do I spray it on the leaves/all over the flower heads and leaves? here's a photo which I've just taken. Interestingly, one of the three rose trees seems completely unaffected. Blow it, can't seem to copy and paste the photo, sorry. but it looks pretty much like the one in the link sent by Buenchico.

Hi Chox, if it is black spot I have to disagree with Togo if he is saying that it will not affect your roses generally. Black spot will weaken roses by reducing plant vigour.
It is essential to gather all leaves and ensure that they are disposed of safely e.g. in your dustbin. They must not be added to garden compost as the fungus spores can travel. I won't burn mine even.
Spores are apt to travel especially in wet conditions so I always gather infected leaves before spraying on a daily basis. Let's hope it is not black spot for it is virtually impossible to eradicate it from your garden.

Answering my own question now about whether we were sold poor quality standards ... no, it's just one of those things and is probably due to the humidity. I have advised to feed them now (despite the rain outside), and to spray them with whatever when it's dried up and the leaves are dry. Really and truly, there's nothing much I can to do avoid getting this again next year etc. So as Prudie says, it's a pain! Apparently about 99% of all roses get black spot (and there is another disease which causes similar "symptoms"). Anyway, thanks to all for all their suggestions. Going to feed and spray them over the weekend. Cheers, everyone, happy gardening! Chox.
