I have a flourishing Hydrangea, but only two flowers, any ideas why? Last year because of damage I cut it right back.

You will have to wait till next year. This years flowers are from last years growth. Cutting it right back means waiting till next year.
It will take several years to regrow what you cut off !
Incorrect Eddie, you can cut them back hard every year in early spring and they'll come back in that summer - as I can see through my window now.
