Buying A Knife

I have just returned home after spending a good part of the morning trying to buy a kitchen vegetable knife!!
And no I did not manage to buy one. Many shops have stopped selling them, unless you buy a knife block.
I tried all the supermarkets and a couple of independent shops.
The shops all give the same reason, knife crime. Most suggested using a peeler, but I like the feel of a knife in my hand.

TK max or home sense will sort you right out :)

They sell lots of individual gadgets and knifes.

Thanks Spath, never thought of TKMaxx. I'm not familiar with Home Sense.
If you like TKmaxx home stuff and kitchen stuff etc.. then you will loveee home sense. It's part of the TKmaxx family, but they specialise in home wear such as sofas, knifes, pots and pans, bedding, candles etc.. etc..
... four minutes in...

Well a peeler isn't great for chopping, is it?

Have you tried Amazon? I haven't shopped for knives in a long time. Last time I did I got one from Morrisons.

ok
I think John Lewis still sells knives.

(A few years ago my mum bought me a cheese knife and board for Christmas. The cashier insisted on checking my mum was over 16. She was 67!)
Lol, Jo, the Co-op refused to sell me alcohol because my 21 year old daughter didn't have any ID.
Sharon, think the stores are trying to sell you a lot of knives when you only want one. Once it's out of the block what does it matter?
TTT...you ain't much of a chef then?
Shaon try this one from Argos, never had a ceramic knife, but you do need proof of ID to show you are over 18 lol.
