but Chris's response reminded me of something I witnessed some years ago. It was approaching Xmas and a supermarket had (as they do) put an extra display unit in what was usually a thoroughfare, thereby causing a partial obstruction. Along come a couple who are letting their child push the trolley (which she is too short to see over) and the inevitable crash occurs - broken wine bottles all over the place. I was impressed with the speed with which several staff reacted to block off the scene until it could be cleared up.
But the aspect which amused/annoyed me was the husband did an embarrassed runner leaving his wife to deal with a somewhat scared child - I managed to cheer her up (the child) by an amused wink as she passed by on her Mum's shoulder - Mum then also saw the funny side :-D
But I do think this sort of "extra" display should be embargoed.
