Solar Security Lights

Can someone tell me if these are any good? I like the idea of not using electricity but not sure if solar will be more trouble than they are worth.

It can't cost much to run a security light from the mains.
In these dark days of winter I'm not sure there'd be much solar power available.

solar is fine in summer naff all use in a UK winter

Far be it from me to contradict the esteemed woofgang but I've had two solar lights up for years now, one from LED hut and one from Lidl, both work absolutely fine all year round.
