Bulb Smart Meter And I H D

Hi,
had a IHD for a couple of years ( Duet 11 ) and worked really well. Suddenly stopped working. Phoned Bulb and they said this happens and due to the kind of Smart Meter it will not work again. Is this just a Bulb thing or are there companies that it will work with again. It has really become essential in checking usage and making sure I don't trip the fuses.

I was interested in this question. That is, until I realised I didn't understand a word of it ;o)

IHD = In Home Display, it lets you keep a check on electricity use age in the home. Sorry it was so complicated.

Does the display show anything at all?
Do the batteries need charging or replacing?
Have you accidentally turned the backlight off?

Duet II is hused by a lot of electricity companies, not just Bulb so theoretically it will work if you change supplier (but not if it's broken). It should not suddenly stop working with the existing meter.

A bigger concern is that you are suggesting that your fuses trip regularly. That should not be happening.

I'm afraid this is rather typical of the amateurish way we often run things in this country.

Firstly, there are power suppliers. These are often incompatible with many Smart meters.
Then there are add-ons such as IHDs. These are often incompatible with many smart meters and/or suppliers.

I guess plenty of phoning around is the only way. Trial & error.
I understand monitoring usage to a point, but what is the alternative to normal use - switching off?

But rest assured, you would have to be doing something really diabolical to operate fuses or circuit breakers.

Did Bulb supply the unit? If so ask them for a new one
