Good Idea From My Local Garden Centre?
14 Answers
I thought so.
I got an email from my local garden centre today offering free deliveries of 3 boxes of food.
//
1. A veg box which will contain a selection vegetables, we will try to vary the content from week to week depending upon market availability. The cost of this box is £15.
2. A fruit box with a mix of apples satsumas pears banana , grapes etc again we do our best to give it some variation from week to week The cost of this box is £10.
3. A dairy selection containing a small loaf of bread (Brown or White) 1lt milk 6 eggs and approx 250grams of cheese ( a mild cheddar) The cost of this box is £8
We will not be able to guarantee a delivery time or day, we will have more than one van going around so we should be able to cover a wide area on the same day.
If you are not in we will not come back on the same day, you will have to wait until we are in your area again.
I hope that this will meet some of your needs during these difficult times.\\
How about suggesting it to yours if they are not already doing it.

Good idea from an obviously good Garden Centre Lady. I remember the days when the local grocer delivered, with a huge 4 wheel cart and carthorse, vegetables and groceries. Mr and Mrs Myatt they were called and I used to give the horse a slice of bread. Used to pee all over the road she did(the horse). It was the first time I encountered a hospice. :))

It does but I guess it depends what and how much you get teacake doesn't it really. Might be OK for a family but too much for one person. Brighton & Hove prices aren't cheap especially from local Farm Shops. I might try the fruit and see what I get.
Patsy I wonder if yours is allowed to deliver whatever they stock? If they want to bother doing it of course.
