Hello, Does anyone know if rats can chew through steel? This came up when me and a mate were watching this rubbish movie on bats on channel 4 last night. This killer bats were chewing through steel wire fencing in a few seconds. I exclaimed that this was ridiculous and proceeded to rubbish said film. My mate however informed me that rats can chew through pipes in a few hours. Now this sounds like it could be true, but steel?

Anyone know what the chances are?

Hi.

Neither mice or rates can chew through steel. They can chew through thin stips of metal though such as wire. They can also chew through concrete, but the concrete must be pourus as it breaks up.
