Carpet On Concrete Floor
47 Answers
Trying to remove a carpet from a concrete floor.
God only knows what its stuck down with, currently using a hammer and chisel to lift it a small piece at a time.
Any advice...
1) on how to lift it more easily
2) on how to remove sticky residue on floor.
Any advice appreciated,
Thanks.

But anyway.......... the glue could be either water-based or solvent-based. Probably solvent.
Try and remove all the hairy bits, just leaving the glue itself.
Do what the others have suggested. Scraping mainly.
Also, chemical paint strippers, or even rent a power scraper.
Do be careful with Doogie's heat gun though. Old solvents are highly inflammable ;o)
