Daughter wants to get new carpet laid in bedroom. Along one wall are flat pack built wardrobes and chest of drawers in middle.
Chest of drawers can be removed for the fitting but she is reluctant understandably to start pulling flat pack furniture around.
Want to know that if I put gripper rods along the front of the wardrobes (actually using the edge as a skirting board would that work ok).
Would a carpet fitter do that OK?

Can't see a reason why not. I'd try it; although I've only ever fitted carpet as DIY.
The problem as I see it is that the carpet will likely last longer than the furniture?
my bedroom wardrobe is sliding doors on an alcove. When I changed the carpet, they just put the gripper rod along the front of the door track.
Certainly, Needy. I can't see any problem with that.
