Cooker Spatter Guard

When I fry I try and keep my cooker clean by tearing four sheets of cooking foil, placing them on the hob so that there is a hole in the middle for the flame to get to the pan, and carry on.

Life would be easier if there was a ready-made version. The only things on Amazon go over the frying pan, which is not what I want as it changes the way food cooks.

Any ideas?

Then you have to clean that shield guard. It only takes a second to spray my hob and wipe it down after frying. My hob is 11 years old and looks new without resorting to foil or anything else.

Dannyk - your 11:23 one looks the best - no chance of 'steaming', and tall enough to work. Amazon don't do it anymore (wouldn't you guess?) but there are some on eBay, so I'll give it a go.

Thanks.

this is the one I used to use

Thanks Jenny. That's the sort I used to have, too - ditched it because of the steam effect, thus turning dry-frying into a version of stir-frying (i.e. with added liquids).

Have a ceramic hob electric cooker instead of gas - then you can just wipe the grease spatters off.
