Light For A Jigsaw Puzzle

I'm just wondering is there a good choice of light bulb that would be good for shining onto a jigsaw puzzle in the evening. Are there any types that would be less likely to shine off the pieces making it easier to see them.
I know they do bulbs called warm, cool, soft etc. so that's why I'm wondering would one of these be better than the other.
And is it better to go really bright or better to keep it lower, or to shine onto it from straight above or from the side.

I wonder if a blue daylight bulb would help. I haven't used one for jigsaws so don't know if it would shine off the pieces but I use one for my cardmaking.

Most lighting isn't really good enough - it casts shadows and all that - so we've got a good quality magnifying glass with a light on it which works brilliantly. Opticians often sell them.

Flob. For my crafting, most of which is small and intricate, I use an uplighter with a powerful LED bulb. This bounces off the white ceiling providing an even light with no shadow or glare. Dave found this one on Amazon which is similar to the one I use.

Wherever yuu get your bulbs from, flobadob, you want a Natural or Neutral White bulb - they shine brilliant white. The Cool White bulbs give off a creamy sort of glow.

If you go into your local B&Q the boxes for the Neutral White Bulbs are a blue colour and the Cool White bulbs are in a yellow box.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll try a different kind of bulb, but also might try and use the uplighting idea in conjunction.

Try putting some great proof paper over the light source or shine the light up to the ceiling to give reflected, rather than direct, light.
