The sole on my walking boots is coming away from the upper in the instep area. Can anyone recommend a suitable adhesive to repair them?

Any superglue that says it sticks leather.
You need a contact adhesive like evo stick
What you need is Shoe Goo. It actually works! Do a search for it.
I tried shoo goo and it did not work at all for me.
What went wrong, APG?
I was trying to stick the top half of the boot to the bottom half and it stuck fine until I put the boot on and it started to bend and it just pulled apart.
A lot of effort for naught.

Sole destroying.
APG; you need to apply the glue generously between upper and sole and then bind them together for at least 24 hours. I've done that kind of repair and it worked brilliantly. Also you need to clean the sole and upper before applying.
Thanks Atheist I'll try that next time as I still have the stuff at the back of a drawer. I go through work boots like no one's business. I think the -erm - farm effluent - rots the stiching.

Thanks for the replies. What shall I choose, goo or uhu? I'll see what I can get from homebase.

Ended up getting some gorilla glue. It's flexible and hopefully does what it says on the tin.
