Vacuum Cleaner Advice Please
27 Answers
Our vacuum cleaner has died so I need a new one. The question is...... which one????? I would like a powerful corded (plug in at mains)bag less one. Something that is not heavy up & down the stairs. I'd like it not to have too many filters that need cleaning either. Not asking for a lot am I? Can anyone recommend something? or even warn me what NOT to buy. TIA Jackie x

An indication of your budget might help though. Some Shark or Dyson models cost over three hundred quid, whereas I'm currently looking at buying one of these, which has remarkably good reviews for a budget model:

Thanks again Abers. Buenchico, the most I would spend is around £200, but a good cheaper one, with the sales at the moment, would be good too. Prudie, yours sounded ideal until I read the 'heavy' part. Ours is a powerful one which they don't do anymore because of the 'noise' level. Athiest, I've had a cleaner with a bag so 'been there done that' The Vax that has died is bagless & we emptied it straight into the outside bin & cleaned filter at the same time. TonyV, I see why you have 2 now x
1ozzy, we have a shark lift away and dyson animal both about 2 years old. I know some people prefer cordless but we prefer the corded type. They are more powerful, don't go flat halfway through doing a room and don't have to be stood against something to stop them falling as most including the dyson we have will not stand up on their own. That is just our opinion and the person that started this thread did ask for a corded one.
