Electric Hob Wiring
We are trying to put an electric hob into a newly built kitchen. It is wired separately to the oven. The power is off at the moment. There is a 6mm cable ready to go to the hob. On the bottom of the hob there are 5 places for wires, 1 and 2 are Live, 3 and 4 are neutral and there is one other place.
In the 6mm cable there is only 3 wires. Do we wire just one to 1 and the others to 3?

1. it connects direct to the metal of the casing because it is actually part of the casing metal structure.
OR
2. that it connects to the metal casing with a green/yellow wire bolted to the metal casing somewhere.
Im not sure you need part P for an installation.
You really need to real the instrucions that came with it or phone the manufacturer. Damage will invalidate your warranty.
I agree with the other post, however, follow these rules,
brown = red = live
blue = black = neutral
You most certainly do not connect the earth wire to either the live or neutral. THere will be a separate nut to secure this to.
