How to clean metal pan stand on hob

put in basin after coating with a paste of baking powder white vinegar leave for a while then remove with a Green pad and hot water...

Spray with oven cleaner then scrub with hot water, fairy liquid, Brillo pad. Make sure you wash off all oven cleaner afterwards.

Roz, did you ask a question or suggest a possible method? Don't you know how to clean a saucepan? If not, then follow the advice above. My approach is first to take it off the hob and put it in the sink or a washing up bowl, then to fill it with water and leave for at least an hour. After that, give it a rub with a gritty spongy thing (available in most shops) and if it's still not perfect leave for another hour then apply either elbow grease (look it up) or a good squirt of common sense, or both. Then repeat. Maybe report back tomorrow morning? Good luck. (By the way, whatever you do, don't stand on the hob).
