Need a new washing machine shortly - after doing yet another wash where i forgot to put something vital in, is it worth the extra money to get one that you can add to after it's started?

but prudie the electricity is being used for 6x as long as a quick wash.
My quick dishwasher cycle takes 30 minutes and everything comes out clean.
Vagus of course he survived, however it's always been accepted that baby clothes, especially nappies, needed a long hot wash, they used to boil them in the olden days, probably because swirling them round in tepid water for half an hour didn't get them clean and germ free.
I don't get it either bednobs but that's the claim.

i just googled it (sad arent i!) it overall uses less elecrricity because most of the elctricity is used for heating the water, and it doesn't heat it as much
Rather than "fancy" options, I'd opt for out-and-out quality...our Miele has a 20 minute fast wash and the longest is 2Hr 20Min...and a 10-year all inclusive warranty.
I was told that the reason many new machines take a long time is that they warm the water slower than the old machines and so use less electricity in doing so. Some of the newer ones can take up to 5 hours on certain cycles.
mine takes an hour, that does me
Don't think that the speed of heating the water matters...it's the final temperature that you're aiming for that governs the amount of power used.
my eco wash takes ages it why i don't us it
our old hotpoint started to sound like a jumbo jet taking off and last spins..bearings, so we bought an 9k lg direct drive washer, quiet and fast...
I get that Prudie, although these days I’d guess most babies have disposable nappies.
As for the rest of their clothes, swirling round in 30 degree water, in today’s very efficient washing powder or liquid is vastly different to how our grandparents washed baby clothes.
I never saw the value in boiling clothes on the stove.

Why not buy an extra pair of socks .. then you could add the odd one next time you do a wash ?
Bought one second-hand for £100 from a local store a few months ago. They charged me £20 for delivery and took away the old one. So far so good.
Another thought .. would it be wise to add a dirty pair of socks or pants to a wash that is has already done half a cycle ?
The end result would be half washed clothes ...... BO ?
