Energy Cost Comparisons

Does anybody know of a site where you can compare gas and electricity prices by standing charge and unit price, NOT yearly usage?

What I do when comparing is create a spreadsheet - and compare the total rather than the individual figures

eg.

company 1 standing charge dearer than company 2, but company 2 unit rates cheaper than company 1 - but when totaled a dearer figure may cancel out the difference from that companies second figure

Yes, I like to know the actual prices, but you seldom see them anywhere - it's always 'save £150 on your yearly energy bill' and suchlike. Difficult to find the tariffs on the websites of the actual companies!

I thought there were moves to simplify things but it just seems to get more complex - not just between suppliers but with the multitude of tariffs offered by individual suppliers!

Comparison sites show you a breakdown of the tariffs if you click on a 'more details' option on each deal

Uswitch make it easy to see the tariffs and charges just by clicking on the 'plan info' box on the right hand side of the list of results.
