Cable Organizers

Teh cable organisers you can buy on Amazon are fine for four or five cables, but not when you've got dozens in a draw.

How do other Abers sort their cables? I've tried putting them into short postal tubes, but this doesn't seem to work when every device I buy has yet another cable or two to sort.

Can only guess you are searching for the wrong thing .. there are more cable management trays on Amazon than I have time to look at..

If I am simply storing the cables for when I do need them I use grip seal bags. They come in various sizes and I coil one cable per bag. I stick a label on the bag with the name of the gadget it was bought for and the connection type such as USB-Type C.

For organising cables that are in use I haven't a clue. The back of my tv looks like an enormous pile of tangled snakes and spaghetti and the back of my desktop isn't much better.

When you say "cables"...are they just cables with connectors at each end, or do they have plugs/chargers attached?
I use a variety of sizes of ziplok poly bags - small for small cables, getting larger as the items get larger. Each labelled with the item they came with - and all stored in a lidded, polythene box.

What is coming to me having read your replies is this.

I should THROW away any obvious duplicates. Why do I keep them? Anything I have two of, one will go in the bin. Dreadful waste, but otherwise it'll drive me barmy.

I put many of my cables into zip freezer bags. It keeps them separate in a drawer and also means that I can label them.

Well, can you buy a cable 'tester'? A piece of plastic marked 'usb2', 'usb3', and so on, so you can insert your various cables and find out what they are?

All very confusing otherwise.
