bathroom wash jug & bowl

For Xmas, my friend wants a jug and bowl set for her bathroom - what they used in the old days to wash from. Where can i get one of these from - i can't seem to see them anywhere on the net?

They are properly know as a basin and ewer set, a google search using those terms brings up a few.

I would say your best bet would be second hand/junk shops, or antique shops....

i got mine from an antiques auction at a local church, nearly 20 years ago (blimey, i'm getting old). I paid roughly a tenner for it and I love it. I had it valued a few years ago at over 200 quid! woohoo. Good luck in the auctions and flea markets!

Yes, I would try second hand shops. You are probably too late for car boot sales with the winter weather or you would of found them there also.

If you buy a local paper you may find a "For Sale" or "Wanted" column and could try advertising for one there. Also local newsagents often have a facility to put cards in their windows. Otherwise antique shops are a good bet. (Look in Yellow Pages to find local ones).
