Like the idiot that I am, I've managed to lose all keys to my main front door lock. Am I correct in thinking that whilst repairing a damaged lock may be tricky, replacing one from scratch might be straight forward? I'm looking at a tradesman's bill potentially in the region of several hundred quid which I don't have. Any advice/guidance that could be offered would really be appreciated. The lock is an 'Asec'.

I had my door lock replaced it was not that expensive, a couple of years back but I think it was in the region of £90.00.
My mortice lock broke & I was locked out. Managed to get in through a window & called a locksmith. It was a weekend, he came out and replaced the lock (incl 3 new keys). It was a few years ago - he wanted £55 but neither of us could split a a tenner so he let me off with £50.
Paul... you have to specify the type of lock.
Asec make...

Euro cylinders (upvc doors)
Night latches (like a Yale)
Mortice lock (usually on a timber door)

Timber or upvc door?
Is it locked right now?
You will have to get a locksmith to put a new lock in the door. It is not very expensive, and then make sure to get two extra spare keys cut for back ups.
