Spoke to my GP yesterday evening regarding mobility difficulties, which resulted in a very efficient occupational therapist coming round this afternoon with all sorts of helpful equipment. Hospital electric bed arriving tomorrow. Still living downstairs until I heal. No more sleeping on the sofa, and Mr Lottie will get some well deserved rest and I can use the loo by myself. Relief!!

We were getting worn out!

That's brilliant pat x
Hi Lottie, good to read of progress. Has a stair chair lift been considered yet? Who ever thought you would get excited about a hospital bed?! Sounds ideal for you.
well that's great news Lottie, also ask for a raised up toilet seat and perhaps a grab handle at the toilet, there are loads of aids out there as I have a friend suffering from bad COPD for some time now and asked for aids and seems to be getting them ok.
Great...positive news for you! And a very efficient response from the NHS by the sounds of it.
But tell me please...where are episodes 2 and 3? Or were they consolidated in episode 1?
Great news for you both & I hope you're feeling somewhat better since being floored :-)
& with a decent nights sleep for you both, you can better cope with things x
That is great news :)
So glad you're getting the help you need, will improve the quality of life greatly.
How is the knee after it popped out on Friday night?

That sounds like your knee went out for a pint in the pub, sorry ;)
So glad things will be a little easier for you both. X

JJ. She arrive with a thing with what that I thought was a commode, but actually stands over your loo and is higher. A different walker that was the right side, a grab handle for the settee. And a blow up sir cushion. And loads of advice.
Pasta. Yes episodes 2 and 3 were incorporated in the first Bathroom floor post.
Choux. The knee is very arthritic as has been aggravated dislocation,so leg and knee ache but bearable
The ribs are my worse problem but will heal in time.
Hip hurts, as does back, but that's not unusual.

Baby steps , . In hindsight a very traumatic experience for you both .Be sure to treat yourselves .

And Choux. I have considered chair lifts in the past, but to get one for our stairs would cost a fortune because they were made especially. Apart from thst the landing would have to be altered. Besides, hopefully I can go back to using stairs. The doctors tell me that unless it's essential, it's a bad thing to get a stair lift before you really can't manage stairs because getting up stairs is exercise.
Ribs are little buzzers to heal, Lottie. You have my sympathy. Every breath you take...let alone sneezing :(

It is fantastic though that the O.T. came so quickly and has organised such early deliveries to make life easier and more comfortable for you, 10/10.

No doubt OH is feeling easier about things, too. Just hope you can both get that well deserved sleep each night. x
Take care, lottie. X

yes, baby steps Anne. Husband is worn out and now relieved.

Just completed I have a great
I am glad you are getting the aids to make life easier for you, and well done to the NHS for getting their finger out for once. Hope you also have some decent painkillers
My late father got a lift installed thanks to Social Services. He only had to pay for an electric socket to be fitted at the top of the stairs. It made such a difference to him. He was in his mid 70's and had suffered from chronic arthritis for many a year.

I would have thought that you could get appropriate exercise in other ways than doing the stairs. It is worrying that your feet can give way that easily and the consequences of such can be so severe for you.
