I’m over 80, so don’t dash around nowadays, I’d like opinions please ,on whether to keep my gas fired boiler on all day ,with the temperature set low, or twice a day as I have it set at present.

Set your thermostat to a temp that keeps you comfy during the day - maybe turn it down (or off) when you go to bed.

I was always told (and I don't know whether it's correct), that it's better to have it on all day to produce a consistent ambient temperature, rather than firing it up and down.
But, of course, we're being told we shouldn't have gas boilers now anyway, and that what we should in fact be doing to spending between £10,000 and £15,000 in having an heat pump fitted.
