Fitted Carpet

Since I got the new brown leather suite I had been swinging to terracotta/orange colours since I am sick of my mustard colours. I bought lovely tapestry cushion covers and have been looking to replace the beige rug with a terracotta rug which I viewed a few.

However the size of the rug that I even have at the moment and the size of the new rug doesn't "synchronise" with the one by two by three seater - ie you know - comes from the fireplace to the beginning of the 3 seater but doesn't go under the two seater.

I now have a notion that I may go for fitted carpet and am just round from my local carpet shop and have been quoted a price etc for a nice burnt orange speckled. Rather nice.

However I had wanted to keep the laminate floor down so that some day if I ever I get fed up with the carpet I can always lift it and go back to the laminate floor.

Anyway I wanted underlay of course and the fella has just told me the laminate would have to be lifted for the underlay and carpet BUT he could put the carpet over the laminate ie WITHOUT the underlay.

Sorry for being so long but I did want to explain a good bit. If the carpet goes over the laminate will it be Soft and comfortable enough or should I lift the laminate.

Jenny if a carpet has a webbing back it looks a bit like sacking -its what the tufts are inserted into. Its usually only used for more expensive carpets and those made of wool. The carpet you have chosen sounds like it has a foam backing -if in doubt ask the carpet fitter.
