I've got one of these upright vacuums which I've had for around 4/5 years now. It seems to have lost suction as it keeps chucking bits back out. There was a lot of hair wrap which I removed but that hasn't helped.

Is it normal for vacuums to lose suction after a time? It happened to my old Dyson as well.

No. It never occurred to me to do so. My parents used to vacuum whenever the came round to help out so my dad may have cleaned the filter without me knowing.

Now that I know, I will do this in future.
Tigger, demonstration here for cleaning filters:-

Lol, no need for apology, Danny :o)
youngmafbog, thanks for putting that link on.
I knew how to clean the filters but didn't know how to remove the battery or the rollers, so it was very helpful.
Tiggerblue10 did you manage to find your filter pull out in the cylinder?
Question Author
Not yet, Giggsie. Think I'll leave it till the weekend when I'm not working and I've got more energy :o)

Thank you and thanks to everyone who has posted video links!
