I don't want to stick drawing pins in the wall, Blu Tack isn't strong enough, and Sellotape takes the paint off. So is there any other way of hanging ribbons with Christmas cards attached to them?

Do you have anything to attach the ribbons to. I used to attach them to the wall lights and hang them from there.
Put a picture hanger into the wall and attach the ribbon to that.We use a small amount of blue tack on an emulsioned wall and it works well and doesn't leave any marks on the wall. They do look nice on a ribbon I admit ,how do attach the card to the ribbon, paper clip?
I perhaps should have explained myself better!;we stick the individual cards to the wall with the blue tack they look quite good randomly displayed!
Do you have a Barnados charity shop nearby? If so they do a pack of ribbon with dear little gold pegs for the cards which we have got on picture hooks hung from the picture rail.
I know you said you don't want to stick drawing pins into the wall, but we have plain emulsioned walls and just have some very tiny short nails tacked into the plaster at each end of the wall high up which we have emulsioned over. You wouldn't even know they are there. Every year we dig out the same lengths of string (with each string labelled with which wall it belongs to as they're all different lengths) and we just hook the knots at the end of each string over the nails. It takes about 3 minutes in total and gives us enough length to display all the cards we receive.
