Not for a second did I mean to pry Sandy. You appear to have a plan. Good luck, keep well . Anne .

You will most likely have to apply for it Sandy. Prior to the £150 rebate, Burnley Council owed me £74.77 which i believed they would automatically reimburse me with. When i enquired, i was given a website to visit whare i found a form to fill in. At the end of the month, the money was in my account.
You must pay rates first of all by DD - I got it last year Sandy on the random advice of a neighbour. I did have to fill a form in online (it's easy enough to get). The rates bill was slashed nearly into half BUT if I can remember correctly - they took it off next year's rates which was great too. You must be 70 and live alone. Don't be telling them you will be looking after a wee dog LOL
Sandy - I have just emailed the said neighbour because she told me about another form (she knows everything) that perhaps you could be eligible for - think (my memory not good) but it gives you an allowance if your income is low.
She will email me back and I will let you know about this second form.

well neighbour has actually come over with a little leaflet - it may or may not apply to you but it is called
"Northern Ireland Housing Executive to manage claims for Housing Benefit and Low Income Rate Relief"
There is more detail on the leaflet but you should find out on
www.nihe.gov.uk/Housing-Help/Housing-Benefit/Making a claim for Housing Benefit or by phoning 03448 920 902
Give them a ring tomorrow Sandy and good luck.
also another number regarding the LPS (Land&Property Services) phone number 03002007802
You will get some kind of information/help.
She is unsure whether you will get refund in cash or take it off future bills. But you will find that out tomorrow.
