I am going goggle-eyed trying to pick one. I want one that doesn't make you sweat so guess it has to be cotton. Needs to be a double about 10"/26cm deep and washable. Price is not that important but I don't want a cheap polyester one. Has someone got one they can recommend please?

Oh, and the dog has to like it as well.

Dunelm are usually reliable. This seems to meet your requirements (for £40):

Thank you so much Chris, very kind of you. That one looks good but I can't find the depth size so will give them a call. I do have quite a thick mattress.

Cheers. xxx
Also try John Lewis. Mine from them are great
Amazon .
Argos.
Paignton - Argos has a few, which one is cotton?
do you need it to actually cover the sides? Mine is held on by elastic straps at the top and bottom so wouldnt particulary matter how dep the matress is
I just bought a Fogarty perfectly washable mattress cover for £24 from Dunelm. Fits the bed perfectly and my mattress is about 10 inches.
Nice flat sheets from there, too.
Sorry, can't do links.

Gosh, so many replies, thank you all. However, I did order the one Chris recommended so I'll see what it's like. If it doesn't suit I now have plenty more to choose from.

Cheers and stay cool. xx
