Would you use a company who is offering a discount for a cash deal for some work ?

What are the pros and cons ?

They won’t give you a receipt or guarantee. If they are prepared to cheat the system they will be prepared to cheat you. No paperwork means no comeback if things go wrong.
You won’t be able to prove work was done if you sell up.

I would be wary. If you don't know the company, what their past record is, how it works, etc., it could turn out to be an unsatisfactory arrangement.

They certainly would not be insured if things go wrong. What if one of them had a serious injury on your property?

Your House Insurance can include injury liability.

Yes, but why should the householder’s insurance pay up? They would only do so if it could be proven that the accident occurred due to the householder’s negligence.
