I have ow moved into my new home and there is things I can't fully understand

New shower mixer working off the immersion heater. There is off peak electric heaters.

Q1 ... Does this mean that I will only have hot water for the shower in the morning?
Q2... In winter when the storage heaters are running will that disrupt the pressure in the shower?
Q3 ... I have a Aquarius washing machine, does that fill with cold water and heat it? Or does it use hot water?

My previous house had Gas CH and an electric shower.

Thanks for any help

//As for Prudie's sultana... that's going in the 'Big Book of Building Trade Faults and Excuses.' //

LOL :-)

On a serious note...

It's the RCD functioning as it was designed to do. That is, detecting an imbalance between the Live and Neutral currents. Hence tripping out and keeping poor Prudie safe.

Now why am I suddenly thinking about naughty Swedish movies, I wonder?

Behave boys!!

I noticed when I looked at the fuse box that it had little switches for each room. Is this normal?

Haha.....................

No, not usually per room Susan. Shirley some mishtake.

Should be something like:.........
Upstairs lights
Downstairs lights
Upstairs sockets
Downstairs sockets
Cooker
Immersion
etc etc
And variations thereof :o)
Question Author
No, there are little stickers on the fuse box. They have room names on them.

The off-peak meter has its own fuse box too.

The living room floor must have been really steep to climb. The room is about 3cm higher than the rest of the flat. The area where the door swings open is the same height as the rest of the place.

Room stickers?
I think you're looking at the storage heater fusebox.
That is most likely labelled that way since there's a heater in each room.

This is what they look like

The first four labelled hall, front bed, back bed, hall are all for the storage heaters
Yes. The first one is for storage heaters; water heaters etc.
The one on the right is your main consumer unit for the other circuits.
sorry, hall, front bed, back bed, lounge ....

It is just after 4 am and I have just made myself some toast and a cup of tea.

How do you turn a screaming smoke detector off?
How far away from the smoke detector should the toaster be?

It kept screaming and screaming ☺☺
There should be a button you can press, I use a broom handle to reach it. Other than that open doors and windows and waft frantically with a tea towel
Zebu \RCD functioning as it was designed to do\

With Prudie's sultana presumably RCD stands for:
Residual Currant Device ;-)
Excellent Kuiper :o)

Now that Wolf is having trouble with a toaster, I think we've started an Answerbank meme with Prudie's sultana.
