I think some of us are in for some beautiful weather today, and about time too! I think FIL might be coming over the help finish laying the patio, depending on when he is having his radiotherapy.
Nothing else planned particularly for us ahead of the BH weekend next week. We're off to Riga week after next so don't want to be doing too much this close to our break.
I rather think the supermarket shelves will be raided in readiness for the BBQ weather - OH is taking FIL out tonight to see some Comedian I've never heard of so I'll have a quiet, relaxing one at home.
Whatever you're doing this fine and beautiful Saturday, have an excellent one! :-)
Good morning Lady CG. I hope you have a wonderful time in Riga. I believe it is a very lovely city.
Sounds as though you have quite a busy time ahead of you before you go away.
PS It is so very plesant to see you bck posting on here again. Welcome.
Good morning, Lady-J. Thank you, it's nice to be back. I've been busy as you can imagine, mainly trying to fit school pick-ups around FIL's daily radiotherapy. Sometimes his requests for early-morning sessions might as well be made in Sanskrit.
Looking forward to Riga - it's somewhere I've always wanted to go. We've booked a lovely looking restaurant for OH's birthday.
We've also booked a little 3-night break to Gdansk for our anniversary, which I am very much looking forward to. I shall have my fair share of WW2 history between the two cities - happy days!
Not that I am at all envious but sounds as though you have planned something special.
We are all keeping fairly well at the moment. Unfortunately my youngest had yet another bad bout of covid (her third) and this has affected her lungs a bit but she is determined to do a run this Sunday. She is running for cancer as a family member has been suffering from that awful illness We were all very worried for her as she has a little boy but seems to be well on the way to recovery now.
Oh I'm sorry to hear about your youngest getting COVID a third time - all three of us are getting over a nasty cough / cold and OH has just had to have a course of Doxycycline. His cough was out of control. I'm just glad he's over the worst of it and it's out of the way for our planned trip. Will be thinking of your daughter and willing her on!
I remember you mentioning the family member with cancer and her sweet little lad - what a shame such a young soul has had to witness that. At that age your mum / dad are everything to you. I'm so glad she's on the mend.
Lady-J, I was in a lovely sleep until the bed raider came in and climbed in between us. At that point I realised I had a full bladder so had to get up to go to the bathroom and just never bothered going back to bed. Raider 1 - 0 Me.
well I flew the nest for a while too..only very recently back myself..been very busy in the garden as you might imagine.. and turning the winter home into summer once again with fresh soft furnishings !! had another nasty bout of covid ..which floored me..but other than that..all good ta..still breathing ..if somewhat laboured at times with the long covid stuff..but hey ho !
Oh no, another bout of COVID? Good Lord, that must have been awful to deal with. Please take things slowly and don't push yourself too hard.
I bet that garden of yours is looking mint (no pun intended). Ours is taking shape. OH and FIL have been laying the tiles - the same ones as in our kitchen diner, so the patio is just an extension of that really, separated only by the bi-folds. It will look nice when it's finished and the new lawn is down. I can't wait to get the patio furniture out.
Have you lovely ladies got any nice plans for the weekend?
sounds lovely lcg xx the last pics I saw were just beautiful..bet wee sausage ..or perhaps we should call him saveloy now ?.... is loving having the garden to play in
He absolutely loves getting his wellies on and getting out there and helping daddy and granddad. Of course sometimes he's more of a hindrance than an help and when I take tea and biscuits out, he's nicking all the biscuits. Little tyke!
Last week they gave him a 1m x 1m piece of MDF, a pasting brush and a bucket of water and he had a whale of a time :-)
