I have an 8 socket surge master. Can any one tell me if I can connect a 4 socket surge master to the 8 making a total of 12

It would depend what you are goin to use, how much current will be drawn - i wouldnt advise though, i would get an extension lead and come from a different socket for each.
Well, a surge protector works by absorbing a voltage surge from the system it is connected to . what this means is that anything connected close to the surge protector is also protected by its action, so it will theoretically actually protect everything in your house!
However due to things like cable resistance etc... the further away you get from it (cable distance not walking distance) the less the protection will be. So plug the surge protector in a double wall socket and the 4 way adaptor in the same double socket and the protection will be almost the same for all the 12 sockets.

Thanks guys for the answer. It is very useful.
...however, I'm pretty sure that their guarantee is invalidated if you do "daisy chain" leads together.
