Gas Boilers/Cookers In New Homes

As I understand it, in a few years time new homes will be allowed to have gas boilers for heating.
Are there any plans to phase out/ban gas cookers, too? Realistically I can't see gas being to supplied to new homes just for cooking but is there any legislation about it?
What about gas fires? I have central heating but still like my gas fire.

Like many other live-aboards they forage a lot of dead wood for their wood burners and this ruling will very much increase their living costs. No idea how it would be enforced, though

I have it on good authority that there are miles of gas pipes in this country that don't appear on the plans of any of the gas companies. They're from demolished houses, factories etc but the utilities were only disconnected, not dug up and removed. They find them all the time.

Maybe the aim will change by then. No energy production/distribution is without consequences. Certainly folk seem to think electric cable solves everything but we still already get denials of it being unlikely we will get blackouts in winter, which implies we barely have the capacity now. Especially if relying on home produced electricity. I see no rational plan being made, just change for the sake of doing something and hopes that the seemingly random favoured energy source will be alright on the night.
