I may have to replace my 60cm freestanding cooker soon but cannot find a replacement to suit my needs and I don't want to rejig my kitchen.

I will have to buy a separate oven and hob. Is it possible to put the oven in a low level housing with the hob on top?

Not one of those with a high-level grill, so not one that I would want.

TTT, there is not one model that has both an induction hob and a pyrolytic oven

The one I have is discontinued, Smeg did do one but that is now discontinued
oops sorry, too wide
Question Author
Sadly.
Forgive me if I have this wrong Barry, but hobs and ovens are entirely separate items.
I would drop piece of worktop into the space, with a cut-out for a hob of your choice.
Then fit a standard oven housing underneath (carcass), with an oven of your choice fitted.

Thanks, the builder, I've never had separates and the only built in ovens I've seen in people's homes have been eye level.
I suppose the electricals would have to be seen to as well.
Check the power rating for the new hob & oven to make sure the supply to the existing cooker is Ok for the job.

Induction hobs have quite a high power need.
But if necessary, many modern ovens can be plugged into a normal plug socket.

Thanks, TheWinner, I emailed them yesterday but so far they haven't got back to me. I know that cooker was discontinued some time ago
Question Author
Thanks, Winner, but no pyrolytic cleaning for the ovens.
well, good luck barry1010, hope you find something suitable.

Thanks, Winner. I dread my Bosch fridge failing, too, because there was nothing else like it. Hopefully it will keep chugging.

Builder, that's reassuring about the wiring. My existing cooker has an induction hob and of course it must be quite power hungry because of the pyrolytic cleaning.
We needed to install a new supply for our hob. 13amp worked but at reduced power and you could not have two "burners" on at once! that was over £300 to do.
