Probably a silly question

However , if you buy a boiler with X years warranty - I take it that the X years warranty is only on the boiler parts ?

Baz.. Read the small print.

I presume that if the boiler has a problem with one component they would take responsibility for the component rather than replace the whole boiler. But ask the supplier, not AB.

What I was thinking of is, say a part was faulty on the boiler. Would the manufacturer  come out to check that part under the X years warranty?

Hey up atheist whose put you in charge of what people can and cannot ask.

Baz. Ask the person who installs the boiler. Boiler manufacturers might have reps who come out and diagnose and repair, but you need to ask before you pay.

The short answer is 'it depends.'  Some warranties (Worcester Bosch for instance) give the whole package, which includes labour.

I had to call out asomeone from 'Ideal' once. I was not charged for anything.

Most, if not all manufacturers have a customer services/tech. helpline. When considering a choice of boiler, it's always good to ring then and ask their policy.

I had a Navien boiler installed last year:

"So all of our boilers come with a hassle-free guarantee of up to 12 years, which includes the repair and ongoing support of your product."

(subject to it being serviced annually)
