I have a large Multi~York Carlton settee.

I fear that it might not fit the front door of my new(Sheltered Housing) Flat.I think that it can be taken into pieces, and then re~assembled in the flat.

Has anyone any experience or advice on this.

I am getting a little worried.

Thank You everyone~Gordon.

This could be their website. They have a "contact us" form to fill in for queries

Calmck's link didn't work for me.

If it doesn't work for you, try this one. (above)

I think you'd be surprised what removal men can get through a front door.

To me, to you, to me, to you!

As said, house movers can do magic

barry1010 Thank You,

barry1010 has the right idea.It is a Carlton model from the (now sadly defunct) Multi York company.

I shall just have to measure it,and hope for the best, but as barry1010 says, hopefully the flat was designed with wheelchairs, mobility scooters etc in mind.

I will let you know.

Just to add,we bought this settee 24 years ago.Multi York is well made ,long lasting, sturdy furniture.

When it came to our present house,we had to get it in through the french windows!

Hopefully my new place will have wider doors?

My doors are 'standard' (there is no such thing officially) at 30" wide for the interiors and 33" wide for the external doors if that gives you an idea.  I have sofas similar to yours, sadly not Multi York

Thank You for all your input,

Thinking back to when we moved down here(in 1996),we had no problem getting the settee into the first home, and that was a small, modern semi detached. So I think that I am worrying about nothing.

Sorry Folks!LOL

Moving home is always an anxious time for all of us, Nosey.  It's understandable so don't be afraid to ask questions
