The Decline Of The Uk Towards A 3Rd...

I'm bewildered by advice (shark are great, dyson are rubbish or dyson are great etc). So from a purely engineering pov which are the most powerful stick vacs and what are the figures I should be looking for
As always many thanks for any advice- it is gratefully received

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.I bought an expensive cordless Shark for downstairs and a slightly cheaper GTech for upstairs because they were meant to be good and lighter to manoeuvre but what a faff they are. They are OK for a quick whizz over the carpet but need emptying pretty much every time I use it and they are like 3 leagues below my corded Miele cat & dog for efficiency & power. The downside is it is very heavy to drag around :-(
I don't believe any cordless yet can come close to a corded for suction power (and ease of changing tools).
This interests me as were in the market for a new one. Had 2 Dyson in the last 10 years, they were OK, but if there's something better out there then I'll look at that.
We also have the Miele Cat and Dog for upstairs and stairs carpet, and would agree that they are unrivalled.
Downstairs has no carpet so I don't want to keep dragging a corded, heavy machine out to to a bit of spot hoovering.
