oops bit of an oggy if you did. 22% for the doctors is just the start. They'll all want some of that action, inflation will soar, so will interest rates. Anyone regretting voting Labour yet?

The Tories borrowed £2Trillion and all they produced was highest taxes to 40 years, high inflation, record days off due to strikes and record immigration.

I didn't vote Labour but I can be happy knowing I didn't vote for the Conservatives, who messed up big time, either.

it's almost as if there was some sort of crisis gromit.

Fortunately the 14 year crisis is now behind us.

I'd think most doctors are altruistic.  But while they're that they're not mugs.  They deserve a living wage.

If we want a NHS we can be proud of we need to pay for it

Question Author

if it was just the doctors then fine but it won't stop there will it? Especially now the unions have been given their ball back.

All working people are worthy of a decent wage and the unions will do their best to ensure they get it.

^^^I'm sure Red Robbo and his ilk thought the same.

Look where that left us.

The people voted. You lost. It's the will of the people. Get over it. :-)

Gromit; //Fortunately the 14 year crisis is now behind us.//

Very soon - if not already, 'the 14 year crisis' is going to look like a walk in the park!

//It's the will of the people//

The UK electorate is about 55 million.

20% voted for Labour = 11 million

Population ~ 70 million.

So Labour is the "will" of 11 million people out of 70 million!

That's NOT "the will of the people"!

I think you're missing the irony @davebro3.
My reponse was a parody of that brought out by the Brexiters on here.
Your reply pretty much mirrors that of the Remainers - so in missing the irony, you've actually perfected it!

More of those who voted voted for brexit than didn't, fewer of those who voted voted for Labour than did!

arent you the one who oans about people posting the same thing over and over again?  This is the third time you've posted this.  Dare one wang on about "get over it. you lost" or "you need to respect democracy"?

Question Author

bednobs: "This is the third time you've posted this.  " - where are the other 2?

DAVEBRO, given the fact there are multiple options to choose from in any general election, it's hardly a shock if the winning party receives less than half of the votes cast.

^^^funny how the left love FPTP when it suits them. The current Labour Govt polled less than Corbyn in 2019 - and he was a complete prat.

This isn't the mandate Labour and their lemmings seem to think it is.

Sorry, just going back to the OP. What the hell's an "oggy"? That's not a word I've seen you use before (or anyone else since Max Boyce)

Well, it's the will of the people who could be bothered to get off their added and vote. Anyone who didn't threw away their right to complain about the government.

Funny how in the Alternative Vote referendum in 2011, 2.5 million fewer folk voted in favour of the change than voted for Labour in the general election they lost the year before.

"Oggy" would be from "o.g." meaning an own-goal.
