calling all shrub enthusiasts..

I have a lovely Eucryphia 'Nymansay' which is growing well in my garden, and is now in its 3rd year since planting. What i really want to know is WHEN is it likely to produce flowers ?

I first saw this shrub in a walled garden of a castle in Ayrshire just before sunset and it was absolutely teeming with bee's, getting a late nectar fix on its rose-like flowers.

I've checked all through my gardening books but just cant find any referance as to how old the plant has to be before its mature enough to produce flowers

I googled your plant logman and found some information on there leading me to think it flowers early in its life .Do you know it can grow up to 28 feet tall .If unable to google let me know and I'll try to get more info.for you .

I have one too in a perfect position it has been there for 3 years but no flowers so far!

Thanks dolly, that sounds promising,early in its life is just what i wanted to hear ! Do you have them in Queensland ?

Thanks woofgang, lovely shrubs are'nt they, i had a close look at mine today and i could see two distinctly different kinds of buds foming, so fingers crossed for this year! i'l see what i can find by googling now..
