rotary washing line

bought a new replacement rotary washing line,on having a look at the old one, on two of the arms the line is clipped in position, do i really need these or can i thread the new one without these clips ,thank you allgram.

Yes, I think you will need you do need all the clips, otherwise whenever you hang out very heavy wet or bulky items, the tension on the lines will be lost. It's a real pain and we too ended up taking the line of least resistance and replaced the whole thing.
