pictures of events which took place on her birth day - search the net for information;
you can get birthday cards too with "this happened in your year of birth", but probably easy to find;
picture of her favourite pop group (as a teenager - or now) - or a cd cover copied?
pictures of her favourite food; postcard from a holiday destination that she particularly enjoyed; menu from a restaurant
any scraps of material from a favourite dress/fabrics round the house (but don't cut anything up!!) or lace from her wedding dress if you can find it.
Any programmes from a theatre show she enjoyed? or took part in? Tickets ditto that she may have kept.
Hope these help.
I have two scrapbooks of my son's life so far. I have photo's, tickets to shows we have been to see, cards from birthday and christmas (from close friends and relatives) cuttings from newspapers he was in.
Use funny stories as captions, get frinds and family to share these, maybe ask people to write a little note for her, put these in.Maybe draw up a small family tree? If there are grandchildren, maybe get them to draw a little picture and write a note to "gran". A "timeline" of her life (so far lol), copy of favourite recipe/poem/song lyrics/prayer etc
It's a lovely idea to do this for her, best of luck and happy birthday to your mum x x
We do a "This is your life" book for friends & family for their 40th birthdays wich is similar to what your doing. We get the persons friends & family members to write something, a memory, funny story etc. & include photos if they have them all this is bound in a book, it just adds a little more impact than just the family memories.
Good luck.
