How do the CSA calculate the due amount from a sefl employed person.

I believe that they depend on your submission to them of accounts of somekind. As for the calculation from your earnings, probably quite a (over)complicated process. Try their website www.dss.gov.uk/csa/
it seems that in most cases they employ the formula of:

your average salary before tax, less �50 per month spending money for you, divided by your next-door neighbours house number and added to the combined ages of all your children you may or may not have. Then this figure is multiplied by a random number, usually the same as the bonus ball on the national lottery and subtracted from the number they first thought of. That amount is what you will have to pay every week for the rest of your life.
