Silly me knocked off the sideboard a Carnival glass bowl, and it broke clean in half. I think its covered on my house insurance ? How and where could i get its valuation. I think it would be between 500.00 and 800.00 and would i need a valuation for the insurance? Sorry if i am being thick, I've not had a claim before . Thanks lesley.

i think you would need a receipt for this as they would need proof you haven't stolen it. also i think you only get what you paid, not its market value.

i may be wrong...

depends on the insurance type, some only pay what you paid, some pay the cost for a replacement, whether its less or more than the original cost. You may need a receipt though, as they can argue that the bowl isnt actually yours. they may try everything not to pay out.
