What qualifications does one require to be a plumber? And would it be possible to attend evening classes, then get such a qualification?

First you have to have your conscience removed so you don't mind ripping people off. Then you have to learn how to drink copious amounts of tea whilst muttering "this is much worse than I thought..". Oh, and you need to learn how to solder fittings whilst making the maximum size burn marks on the nearby walls. I do my own plumbing now....

I believe evening classes are available at most technical colleges which will enable you to obtain plumbing GNVO level 2. To become a comopetent all round plumber, you will eed to achieve GNVQ level 3. You will also need a great deal of on-site experience. To obtain ACS qualifications to gain CORGI registration your compatancy must be approved by an already CORGI registered member of the trade, ie: your employer. It is not just something you can get just by doing evening classes. Be prepared to experience back and knee trouble and to deal with IGNORANT CUSTOMERS, LIKE THE PERSON WHO REPLIED BEFORE, ROGERMEE.
