We had a long hutch which spanned one side and galvanised wire panels on the other 3 sides, they was probably about 4' long but seemed bigger then. It was about 30" high, just low enough to step over but too high for him to jump, we found he used to burrow underneith, so later we buried more mesh under ground, thats one thing we learnt and wished we done it in the first place!
Dont expect to have grass growing in there for too long, he will soon chew that off. You can get him to do his toilet in one place by puting a slice of log in there, about 1' wide by about 6" deep, in the wild they like to go on a tussock or ant hill. Try not to over feed any surplus may attract rats if your not careful, moving things around helps keep rats away too, a hollow log or pipe will keep him happy and amused. If you have weeds in the garden like dandelion and sour thistle, he will be only too glad to take them off your hands. always provide water and at least one area in the shade. Thats soooo much better than keeping it cooped up in a small hutch. Good on you and Good Luck!
