They like a constant heat and since they trail, you need a lot of space for the roots and the trailing stems. I once grew one in my vegetable plot under a long cloche. I watered and nurtured it all summer and it only yielded one fruit which was about two inches in diameter ! We had a ceremonial eatng of it but I wouldn't bother again!.
