Getting rubbish removed

Several months ago we moved into our house which has a garage in a block. The previous owners left a trailer by the side of the block of garages which is now all smashed up and very untidy. I know its not my responsibility to remove it/have it removed, but its very untidy and the old owners lied to our neighbours and said we wanted to keep it as we had a friend who wanted the framework! I dont have access to a van big enough to take it to the local recyling place - and if I phone the council to remove it they will charge us. What is the best plan of action ?

i think you will find it is your trailer now and is your responsibilty to remove it.

I would phone the local council complaining that there was rubbish dumped and you are concerned that children could hurt themselves, if you admit it is yours they will charge you.

Perhaps all the neighbours who have garages in the block could club together and hire a skip, sharing the cost. Then you can smash up the trailer, and everybody can have a communal "Get rid of all your domestic rubbish day".
