Find the type of house you want first, by looking at agents' photographs, then ask the agent how old the house is. The estate agents will know, when you know what you want.

Firstly, what does it matter what decade a house was built in if you like it?

Secondly. the Estate Agents can't be much cop if they can't even give an educated guess, they should have some basic knowledge of architecture and the approximate age of a house!

There are some useless estate agents about! I want to know the age coz i don't want something too old which is going to get structural problems / need the roof retiling, etc. etc.
