How do you repair a cable that has been cut in 2 by lawn mower? It is about 20cm from the actual mower.

Hubby suggests you have it rewired into the mower.( I did the same thing once and he fitted a connector to the cable but it kept coming apart.)

You could do as suggested by Carol Anne or you could pop down to the local DIY store and see if they have a flex connector,it should only be a twin flex I would think as most mowers are double insulated, don't forget to use a portable RCD when using tools outside or maybe you have an inbuilt one in your consumer unit?

Ps. might sound silly but unplug it before you carry out repair, you would be surprised how many peoplr forget!!

If it's only 20 cms, you're not really losing anything by following Carol Anne's suggestion. It also means you can note which colour wire goes to which connection when you remove the short piece. Been there, done it!
